How to Make Soap from Scratch- Cold ProcessJan 25, 2012 In this week's tutorial I show you how to make your own handmade soap from scratch! It's not difficult and can easily be made using just 4 ingredients- canola oil, olive oil, water, and sodium hydroxide (lye). I came up with this recipe myself and it does not include any fragrances or colors. I wanted to keep it nice and simple for you guys. This is just an introduction to soapmaking. If you want to take it a step further I recommend you do your research and learn as much about soapmaking as you can because there are a lot of different factors that play a role in the chemical process that is creating soap. How To Make SoapJan 22, 2012 Directions: 1st make sure you have all the supplies, make a check list with these items. 1.a flat of soap squares about a pound will do. 2.a microwave safe bowl 3.cooking spray 4.a mold (local arts and craft store 5.a paring knife 6.and a cutting board. 7.food coloring 8.any scent you like now cut as many peices of soap sqaures you think you need. Add them to your microwave safe bowl. Spray your molds with the cooking spray. Set that aside. Get the scents and coloring ready. Put the soap sqaures in the microwave for about 1 min. or 1 min and 30 seconds depending on your microwave power. After the minute or so take it out and add the scent and the coloring quickly, and mixed them quickly. then pour it into the molds evenly. Once finished let them sit for about an hour or so. then walla you have nice bars of soap.
